After BIP-110 split the chain on August 8 and Blake2b forked off, two of the voices I’ve learned the most from ended up on different paths. Jeff Booth stayed on main chain and talks about a third path, and Matt Kratter says Core is captured and it’s time to fire the miners. On my last talk with Jeff, listeners asked for them to have a conversation together. I couldn’t make that happen, so I put their views side by side instead, using clips from my four years of conversations with Jeff, quotes from 11 of Matt’s videos, and over 480 of your comments. For each topic, I share what Jeff said, what Matt says, and where I currently stand. I really think both of their contributions to Bitcoin matter, even where they disagree.

In 2026, Jeff and I talk about the chain split and the division in the community. I bring a community question about capture and ask whether Jeff’s view has changed, and he explains why he says it hasn’t. I share why I’ve been spending time on the new chain and why it feels hopeful to me, and Jeff shares his doubts and why he stays on main chain. We talk about in-group bias and explore the potential of a third path forward. We end with Ego Death Capital and Orange Juice, a new long-term vehicle to bring Main Street businesses into Bitcoin.

My book had just come out, and I was asking myself where I fit in the Bitcoin space and how to stay true to its principles in a world still built on fiat. I didn’t plan this conversation with Jeff, but it turned out to be the one I really needed, because he kept bringing it back to what actually matters.

Here are the first two hours of the Beyond Money audiobook, which I recorded and produced myself. It begins with Jeff Booth’s foreword, then my introduction and preface, and opens the first part of the book, Ego Consciousness Imposed by Fiat. That part starts with the individual matrix, how our childhood programming shapes what we believe is possible, and what I’ve come to understand about the true nature of reality. Then it turns outward to the systemic matrix and the beliefs about money we absorb without noticing. I really hope it gives you a feel for the book, and I’m grateful you’re here listening.

We open this one with truth: how Jeff defines it, and what it means to him that if the universe is quantum, we are too. A lot of the conversation stays with consciousness, attention and how we create the reality we live in. Then we turn to fiat as a system of extraction, privilege by birthplace, and why money should measure everything else. We also cover the risks to Bitcoin, digital IDs, and whether luxury real estate falls to its marginal cost of production. We close on abundance, AI and the singularity, the present moment, and the books we’re each writing.

Sally’s work has been life-changing for me, so I really wanted to bring her here. We start with what oxalates are, how they form crystals with minerals like calcium, and where Sally says they collect in the body. From there we talk about inflammation, why so many separate symptoms might share one root, and how this shows up for people on a spiritual path. A big part of the conversation looks at the history of vegetarian and vegan eating, from the reform movements of the 1800s to the food industry and the books of the 1970s and 80s. We end with Sally’s own story and her advice on going slowly if you want to lower oxalates.

In our first conversation, I bring Jeff questions about Bitcoin as a money and how he answers pushback. We start with Bitcoin’s issuance, inflation and why the state still taxes. Then we go through a gold bug’s objections and look at whether Bitcoin’s design stops large holders from concentrating power. From there we move into the personal side: moving my time from fiat into Bitcoin, ego death, how we show up in our relationships, and a Bitcoin standard as a path to higher consciousness.
